Pavan To Represent Canada at Olympics

Former Nebraska volleyball All-American Sarah Pavan will represent Canada in beach volleyball at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August.

Pavan is the fourth former Husker volleyball player set to compete at the Olympics. Kayla Banwarth, Jordan Larson and Kelsey Robinson will represent the United States on the court.

Pavan and her partner, Heather Bansley, qualified directly through FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) Olympic rankings, as they finished fifth, despite an injury layoff. They finished in the top 10 at every tournament in 2016.

Pavan was a four-time first-team AVCA All-American at Nebraska and the winner of the Honda-Broderick Cup in 2006-07. She led the Huskers to the 2006 NCAA national title with AVCA National Player of the Year honors and holds Nebraska's career records in kills (2,008).
