Huskers Announce TV, Tip Times

Lincoln - The full schedule for Nebraska women's basketball's fourth season at Pinnacle Bank Arena has been set with the addition of game times and Big Ten Network television designations.

Amy Williams will lead the Huskers on the court for the first time as Nebraska's head coach on Sunday, Nov. 6, when the Big Red battle Southwest Baptist in exhibition action. Tip time at Pinnacle Bank Arena has been set for 2 p.m.

Nebraska, which has ranked among the top-12 teams nationally in average home attendance in each of its first three seasons inside Pinnacle Bank Arena, will provide Husker fans with an NCAA Tournament-caliber opponent in almost every regular-season home game of 2016-17.

 In all, 13 of Nebraska's 16 regular-season home games will come against 2016 postseason teams, including at least five and as many as seven games against NCAA Tournament teams.

Nebraska will open regular-season play by facing the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the opening game of the Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament. The Huskers will tip against UTRGV, which competed in the 2016 Postseason WNIT, on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.

Nebraska continues play in the Preseason WNIT on Monday, Nov. 14, by playing host to either 2016 NCAA Tournament qualifier Missouri or 2016 WNIT qualifier and Southland Conference Champion Abilene Christian. Tip-off for that game will be 7 p.m.

The Huskers will host a third home game in the Preseason WNIT on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The Preseason WNIT Championship Game is set for Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. The location of that game will be determined by the outcome of tournament play, but it will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.

Nebraska returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena to face Omaha on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Tip time against the Mavericks is set for 7 p.m., in the first regular-season game between the two schools as NCAA Division I opponents.

The Huskers will spend Thanksgiving in Las Vegas at the South Point Shootout. Nebraska opens with Pac-12 foe Washington State on Friday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. (CT) at South Point Arena, before closing the tournament with ACC opponent Virginia on Friday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m.

The Big Red continue road play against the ACC on Thursday, Dec. 1, by traveling to Blacksburg, Va., to face Virginia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tip-off between the Huskers and the Hokies is set for 6 p.m. (CT).

Nebraska returns home to square off with Pac-12 foe California on Sunday, Dec. 4. The game between the Big Red and the Bears is set for 3 p.m., with live television coverage provided by BTN.

The Huskers continue a three-game home stand by facing 2016 WNIT qualifier Drake on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., before taking on San Jose State on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

Nebraska will take a nine-day break from competition for Finals Week, before returning to road action for the annual battle with Creighton on Sunday, Dec. 18. Tip-off at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha is set for 2 p.m., and will mark the first of seven consecutive games against 2016 postseason tournament teams for the Huskers.

Nebraska concludes non-conference play with a clash against defending NCAA Champion UConn on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-time with the Huskies, who have won four straight NCAA titles, is set for 8 p.m., with live television coverage from BTN.

The game with UConn also will be the first of nine consecutive home games against 2016 postseason tournament qualifiers, including all eight Big Ten home games. Overall, Nebraska will play a minimum of 19 games against 2016 postseason qualifiers in what is expected to be the most challenging regular-season schedule in school history.

After a week-long break from competition to celebrate the holidays, Nebraska returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena to open Big Ten Conference play against Northwestern on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m. 

The Huskers will celebrate New Year's Eve in Iowa City by taking on the Hawkeyes on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m., before facing perennial NCAA Women's Final Four contender Maryland at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m.

Nebraska will face another 2016 NCAA Tournament team by traveling to East Lansing to battle Michigan State on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m. (CT), before returning home to take on 2016 WNIT qualifier Rutgers on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m.

Following the clash with the Scarlet Knights, Nebraska will close out January by playing four of its next five games on the road, starting with a Sunday, Jan. 15 game at Illinois. Tip time with the Fighting Illini is set for 2 p.m.

The Huskers stick to the road to meet Penn State on Thursday, Jan. 19. Tip time at University Park is set for 6 p.m. (CT).

Nebraska will play its lone home game from Jan. 11 to Feb. 3 at Pinnacle Bank Arena when the Huskers meet Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. Last season, Big Ten Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Big Ten forward Jessica Shepard produced a record-setting day with 35 points and 20 rebounds in a win over the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

The Huskers will make their first BTN appearance of Big Ten play when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind., to battle 2016 NCAA Tournament qualifier Purdue on Thursday, Jan. 26. Tip-off between the Big Red and the Boilermakers is set for 5 p.m. (CT).

It will be the first of three straight games for the Huskers on BTN, including a match-up at 2016 NCAA Sweet 16 participant Ohio State on Sunday, Jan. 29. Tip-off between the Big Red and the Buckeyes is set for 11 a.m. (CT).

Nebraska will play four of its six February games at home, beginning with a Feb. 4 contest against 2016 WNIT qualifier Minnesota. Tip-off between the Huskers and Golden Gophers is set for 5 p.m., with live television coverage from BTN.

After a brief trip to Wisconsin to battle the Badgers on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m., the Huskers return home to Pinnacle Bank Arena to conclude their season series with Ohio State on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

Nebraska then faces 2016 NCAA Tournament qualifier Indiana at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m.

The Huskers wrap up road Big Ten action at Michigan on Thursday, Feb. 23, before celebrating Senior Day for Allie Havers and Esther Ramacieri against Michigan State at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday, Feb. 26. Tip times and TV designations for those two games will not be determined by the Big Ten until February.

The Big Ten Tournament will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, March 1-5.
