The Nebraska soccer team (5-1-0) looks to continue its momentum this weekend when it faces Dayton and No. 13 Clemson. The Huskers host the Flyers on Friday at Barbara Hibner Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. The first 700 fans will receive roller banners and the first 250 students will receive Husker Hooligans shirts. NU squares off with the Tigers on Sunday at 11 a.m. (CT) on WatchESPN.

Last Time Out: The Huskers took down Kansas, 2-1, in double overtime on Friday night and defeated previously unbeaten Saint Louis, 1-0, on Sunday night.

Up Next: The Huskers open Big Ten play by hosting Michigan State and Michigan at Hibner Stadium. Nebraska battles the Spartans on Friday, Sept. 16 at 7:05 p.m. before taking on the Wolverines on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1:05 p.m.

• Nebraska’s 5-1-0 record is its best six-game start since 2010, when the Huskers began the season with an identical mark.

• Nebraska is receiving votes in the NSCAA poll (Sept. 6) for the first time this season. NU earned 25 points, which is equivalent to the No. 31 ranking.

• Brenna Ochoa was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Sept. 6 after scoring the game-winning goal against Kansas in double overtime on Sept. 2.

Senior Quartet Showing the Way

• Seniors Jaycie Johnson, Caroline Flynn, Sydney Miramontez and Courtney Claassen have each started all six games this season.

• Johnson, who is back from a season-ending ACL tear last year, has one goal and one assist this season.

• Miramontez has one goal and one assist this season.

• Flynn, Johnson and Miramontez each earned a spot on the Big Ten Preseason Honors List, released on Aug. 15.

Newcomers Making an Impact

• Three true freshmen have started each of the first six games: Aubrei Corder, Meg Brandt and Sinclaire Miramontez

• Corder has 24 saves and four goals allowed through six games (570 minutes).

• Brandt is tied for the team lead in points (4). She scored a goal in the season opener against Marquette and added game-winning assists against BYU and Oregon State.

• True freshman Brenna Ochoa has also appeared in all six games, and has two game-winners, both of which she scored in double overtime.

• Newcomers Alexis Rienks (junior transfer from New Mexico State) and Elyse Huber (true freshman from Sioux City, Iowa) have also made multiple appearances.
