Ex-Husker Green Advances to World Championships

New York, N.Y. – Former Husker James Green (70 kg/154 pounds) qualified for the U.S. Men’s Freestyle World Team in the Non-Olympic Weight World Championships with his wins over Jordan Oliver on Friday, Nov. 11.

Green, a four-time All-American at Nebraska, sat out until the Championship Series because of his bronze medal from the 2015 World Championships. Green had a two-match sweep over Oliver, defeating the former Oklahoma State grappler by scores of 2-1 and 4-3.

With his performance, Green advances to the Non-Olympic Weight World Championships, set for Dec. 10-11, in Budapest, Hungary.
