NU Takes Down the Spartans

Lincoln, Neb.-- The Huskers competed against the Michigan State Spartans in a nail-biting match, winning 4-3 over the Spartans. This is Nebraska's first conference win of the season.

In doubles, Toby Boyer and his partner Dylan Bednarczyk started strong, sweeping the Spartans in their match, 6-0. Chris Dean and Tomislav Antoljak played against Jasper Koenen and Doug Francken and fell 6-2. With the points tied up, it was up to the No. 2 spot to break the tie. David Samardzija and Micah Klousia competed hard and came out on top, 6-3, to get the match point for the Huskers.

In the No. 6 spot, David Samardzija competed against Doug Francken but fell 6-1, 6-1. Micah Klousia got a point for the Huskers when he triumphed against Ivan Rakic, 6-1, 6-4. Chris Dean competed in the No. 5 spot, but fell to the Spartans, 6-3, 6-3. Tomislav Antoljak also fell in his match against Michael Dube, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0. Toby Boyer tied up the match when he completed his nail-biting win against his Michigan State opponent, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. For the match point, Dylan Bednarczyk had an animated performance in the No.1 spot, defeating his opponent 6-7, 6-4, 6-2. 

NU is back in action against the University of Michigan at home on Sunday, April 23 at noon.
