Salvador Da Bahia, Brazil - Former Husker James Green had four dominant wins at the Pan American Championships over the weekend en route to the 70 kg gold medal.
Green was one of five American champions and seven medalists for the men's freestyle team. He won all four of his matches by 10-0 margins, downing Mauricio Sanchez Saltos (Ecuador), Julio Rafael Rodriguez Romero (Dominican Republic), Lincoln Messias Moreira Dos Santos (Brazil) and Luis Isais Portillo Mejia (El Salvador).
Green takes gold at the Pan American Championships after winning his weight class at the U.S. Open last weekend. Green adds those awards to a collection that includes a 2015 World bronze medal. He was a four-time All-American at Nebraska, competing for the Huskers from 2011 to 2015.
