The Nebraska men's golf team has announced the signing of Tristan Nelko from Plymouth, Minn.
"Tristan will be a great addition to the program," Head Coach Bill Spangler said. "We love how confident he plays without any second-guessing...he really trusts the preparation he has put in and plays with a ton of passion."
Nelko has put up impressive feats through high school and looks to have his success translate to the collegiate level. He finished in the top 10 at four major national events including placing T8th at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Memorial at Ohio State University in July, 2017 and T3rd at the AJGA Memorial at Carlton Oaks in April, 2017. Nelko also held the honor of All-State in Minnesota and led Wyzata High School to a state championship. He had a scoring average of 73.8 during his senior year.
“When you get to know Tristan, you really get the sense of how much he cares about becoming a great player," Assistant Coach Judd Cornell said. "His work ethic and passion allowed him to have a really successful 2017...He’s a great addition to next year's team and what we have coming up in the near future."
