Green to Compete at Pan-American Championships

Former Husker great James Green is set to compete at 70 kg as a member of the United States men’s freestyle team at this weekend’s Pan-American Championships in Lima, Peru. Nebraska Head Coach Mark Manning will also be traveling to Peru as a part of the coaching staff for the U.S. men’s freestyle team for the Pan-American Championships.

The tournament runs Thursday through Sunday, with the men’s freestyle portion taking place Saturday and Sunday. The entirety of the 70 kg competition is set for Sunday, with qualification and repechage matches beginning at 10 a.m. (CT) and the finals at 6 p.m.

Green, a four-time U.S. World Team member, is a strong favorite to take gold in Peru. He has competed twice at the event, taking home gold in 2017 and silver in 2016.

The competition will take place in the Sports Center of the National Sports Town. United World Wrestling will provide a live stream of the event and complete results to those residing in the U.S. through Trackwrestling.com, which is requires a paid subscription. UWW season passes are available for $49.99.
