Cornell to Continue as Assistant Men's Golf Coach

Nebraska Associate Head Coach Judd Cornell will enter his sixth season on the men’s golf staff in 2018-19 during the first year under Head Coach Mark Hankins. Hankins took the reins of the Husker program on June 13, 2018.

Cornell, an Omaha, Neb., native, joined the staff in 2013 and was promoted to associate head coach in July 2016. Nebraska compiled 26 top-10 finishes in stroke-play events in Cornell’s first five years on staff.

“Judd is a high integrity, motivated, alumni golfer that has valuable experience in the Big Ten Conference,” Hankins said. “He is a respected player and someone that is willing to give 110 percent to the success of our Husker men’s golfers - past, present and future.”

Among the players who have had success under Cornell’s tutelage is Jace Guthmiller, a rising senior for the Huskers. Guthmiller recently took runner-up honors at the Nebraska Match Play Championship, June 25-29, at Champions Run in Omaha. Current Huskers Sean Song and Tanner Owen each made the quarterfinals at the event.
