10 Huskers Earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the 2017-18 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday and 10 current and former Huskers were honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Caitlin Bartsch, Bree Boruff, Bri Cassidy, Olivia Ferrell, Gina Metzler, Taylor Otte, Ally Riley, Rylie Unzicker, Madi Unzicker and Sarah Yocom were all recognized for their efforts last school year.

As a team, Nebraska led the Big Ten, ranking 18th overall among teams on the list. Ohio State ranked second in the conference and 53rd overall. 

This continues Nebraska’s off-field success, as the Huskers lead all softball programs nationally with 30 CoSIDA Academic All-America awards.
