Similar to yesterday, Nebraska jumped to a quick lead in the top of the first and forced a quick Shocker pitching change. Rylie Unzicker and Simmons drew two walks to put two runners on. With Edwards up, WSU got behind in the count and the Shockers quickly switched pitchers. A double steal put both runners in scoring position. Edwards hit a sac fly to score Unzicker and Owen followed suit to score Simmons and give the Huskers a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the inning, the Shockers tied the game 2-2 off two hits and a walk. The Huskers also had one error. Wallace got a big strikeout looking to end the inning.
