Courtney Wallace had three RBIs against Maryland, tying a career best. 

Nebraska had a nine-run fourth inning against the Terps, marking the second-highest runs scored in an inning this season. Nebraska scored 11 runs in an inning in the season opener against Lamar and scored nine runs in a single inning in game two against Pittsburgh.

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska softball team (19-28, 7-12 Big Ten) scored 14 runs en route to a five-inning shutout over Maryland (20-27, 4-15 Big Ten) on Saturday's Senior Day. 

Courtney Wallace (4-5) was impressive in the circle, giving up just one hit and one walk in the shut out. Wallace also had four strikeouts. Regan Mergele pitched 1.0 inning of relief and gave up no hits and had one strikeout. 

Nebraska had 13 hits on the day. Tristen Edwards went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Alyvia Simmons, Rylie Unzicker and Courtney Wallace also had multi-hit games, finishing with two hits. Peyton Glatter, Bree Boruff, Madi Unzicker and Bri Cassidy each had one hit. Wallace also had team-best three RBIs. 

Maryland's Kiana Carr dropped to 2-6 on the season. She pitched 1.2 innings and gave up four runs on three hits. She also had six walks and one strikeout. 

Nebraska took a 4-0 lead in the second, sending 10 batters to the plate. Madi Unzicker reached on a fielder's choice and Cassidy drew a walk. Both runners advanced one base on a double steal. Rylie Unzicker singled up the middle to score on run and Wallace hit a sac fly to score another. Then Simmons drew a walk and Edwards singled to score Rylie Unzicker. Owen walked to load the bases and Glatter drew another walk to score the fourth run of the inning. 

Nebraska extended its lead in the third scoring one run. Rylie Unzicker hit a two-out single and reached second on a wild pitch. Then Wallace singled to score a run. 

In the fourth, the Huskers sent 14 batters to the plate and scored nine runs off eight hits. Edwards singled and moved to third on two ground outs. Walljasper was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners. Bree Boruff pinch ran for Walljasper and stole second to get in scoring position. Madi Unzicker tripled to score two runs and back-to-back doubles from Cassidy and Wallace scored two runs. With runners on second and third, Simmons singled to score two more. Edwards got another hit to put runners on first and second. Owen drew a walk to load the bases. Glatter singled to score Simmons and Boruff doubled to score two more. 

The series finale is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. The game will be televised on BTN and a live radio broadcast will be available on Huskers.com.
