Kuhlkin Advances to Finals at U.S. Women's Open

Three former Nebraska bowlers wrapped up round-robin match play at the U.S. Women's Open in Las Vegas on Saturday, and Liz Kuhlkin qualified for the five-person stepladder finals.

Kuhlkin went 16-8 in the round-robin portion of the tournament and is in fourth with a grand total pinfall of 11,939 (204.63 avg.). Kuhlkin is the defending U.S. Women's Open Champion, winning as the No. 5 seed in 2018. She is looking to become the fourth player in history to successfully defend her title at the event and the 12th player to win the tournament multiple times.

Julia Bond was eliminated but finished in the top-10, placing ninth with a grand total pinfall of 11,748 (202.82, 13-11). Erin McCarthy completed round-robin match play and placed 22nd with a grand total pinfall of 11,276 (198.14, 6-18).

Meghan Straub completed the first round of round-robin match play with a grand total pinfall of 8,138 (201.95, 2-6) and was replaced by Jodi Woessner in the final two rounds of match play.

Kuhlkin will compete for the U.S. Women's Open Championship live on CBS Sports Network on Sunday at 4 p.m. (CT).
