The Nebraska softball team begins its fall season this weekend, which will include five home games, two away games and one scrimmage.
The Huskers will kick off the fall season at Bowlin Stadium with the Scarlet & Cream Scrimmage on Sept. 15 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The scrimmage will feature all current Huskers, including freshmen and transfer athletes.
On Sept. 22, NU welcomes Omaha to Bowlin Stadium for a double header beginning at noon.
On Oct. 6, the Big Red will travel to Ames, Iowa, for a doubleheader against Iowa State beginning at noon.
The following weekend (Oct. 12-13), Nebraska hosts the Big Red Fall Classic. The Huskers and Colorado State will kick off the weekend with a doubleheader on Oct. 12 beginning at 10 a.m. On Sunday, Colorado State and South Dakota will play a game at 10 a.m. The weekend will close with a matchup between Nebraska and South Dakota at 12:30 p.m.
All home games will take place at Bowlin Stadium and are free admission. The clear bag policy will not be enforced and concessions will be open for all games, except for the Scarlet & Cream Scrimmage.
Nebraska returns 16 players from last season, including seniors Samantha Owen, Bree Boruff, Tristen Edwards and Lexey Kneib, juniors Olivia Ferrell, Ally Riley, Sarah Yocom and Riley Unzicker and sophomores Anni Raley, Karlee Seevers, Lindsey Walljasper, Courtney Wallace, Carson Fischer, Peyton Glatter, Payton Huscroft and Mikaela Forcum.
NU welcomes three newcomers in Oregon State junior transfer Cam Ybarra and freshmen Brooke Andrews and Keana Pola.
