Lincoln – Fans got a look at Fred Hoiberg's new-look Huskers for the first time Friday night at Opening Night with Husker Hoops at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The event featured introductions of both the men's and women's teams and remarks from Fred Hoiberg and Amy Williams before the Huskers took the court for a 20-minute scrimmage. The Red team posted a 56-39 victory in a scrimmage.
Hip-hop star Rick Ross closed the evening with a concert and had both Husker basketball teams on stage dancing and singing along to close the evening.
The Husker men's first action of 2019-20 will be an exhibition game against Doane on Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.
