Nebraska Coach Amy Williams and Husker players will be featured across all Big Ten media channels during @B1GWBBall Media Week, Oct. 21-25.
The week tips off at 10 a.m. (CT) on Monday, Oct. 21, with the on-sale of Nebraska's women's basketball "Starting Five Pack" reserved tickets and the new "You Betcha Bundle" general admission 10-pack on Huskers.com. Big Ten Preseason Awards and polls are announced between noon and 12:15 p.m., with several other Big Ten features in the afternoon.
Nebraska's participation in @B1GWBBall Media Week begins with Williams leading off the Nebraska Football Weekly Press Conference on Monday at Memorial Stadium, starting at 12:45 p.m.
During @B1GWBBall Media Week, fans are encouraged to participate by viewing and liking features, sharing content across social media channels, and watching women's basketball features and interviews on the Big Ten Network. All content is available at BigTen.org, the Big Ten social media channels, the Big Ten Network and the Fox Sports App.
Last year, @B1GWBBall Media Week reached nearly 1.2 million fans, a 25 percent increase over 2018. The reach of the week quadrupled the reach of the last traditional Big Ten Media Day in 2015.
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Williams will appear in an exclusive one-on-one interview with BTN studio host Elise Menaker at 12:30 p.m. (CT). Last year, Williams carried the most-viewed women's basketball feature among all 14 of the Big Ten Conference coaches during Media Week. In fact, during the week, her five-minute video interview more than doubled the views of any other coach in the conference.
On Wednesday, the focus shifts to the players, as junior Taylor Kissinger will be featured for her success on and off the court with a profile graphic at 12:30 p.m. (CT). The Big Ten's best three-point shooter as a sophomore, Kissinger ranked fourth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (.456) last season. The 6-1 shooter from Minden, Neb., was also an academic All-Big Ten selection and is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
The Big Ten adds a new feature for the 2019-20 season previews with a set of Instagram Live interviews featuring Menaker and select players later on Wednesday afternoon. Husker sophomore Sam Haiby will be available for a Fan Q&A in the Instagram Live setting, beginning at 1:50 p.m. (CT). Haiby, a 5-9 guard from Moorhead, Minn., was Nebraska's second-leading scorer (10.0 ppg) as a true freshman in 2018-19.
Thursday, Husker senior Nicea Eliely will be featured in an exclusive one-on-one interview with Menaker at 1:30 p.m. (CT), discussing Nebraska's offseason in preparation for the 2019-20 campaign. Eliely, a 6-1 wing from Colorado Springs, is a three-year starter for the Big Red and one of the Big Ten's best defensive players.
Media Week wraps up Friday with Williams participating in the Big Ten Women's Basketball Coaches Teleconference. The audio replay of the teleconference will be available beginning at 3 p.m., which is the same time as the official 2019-20 B1G Women's Basketball Preview Special will be televised live on BTN.
Nebraska opens the 2019-20 season by taking on Rogers State in exhibition play on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Season tickets for Husker women's basketball are on sale now, and the "Starting Five Pack", which provides fans a package to choose reserved tickets for five Husker home games, goes on sale Monday at 10 a.m.
New this year, Husker fans can purchase a "You Betcha Bundle" for women's basketball, which is a book of 10 general admission vouchers for just $30. The vouchers provide great flexibility for families and groups with all 10 tickets available for one game, 10 individual games, or any mixing and matching in between.
