The Nebraska bowling team has been voted fourth in the National Tenpin Coaches Association 2019-20 Preseason Poll, released Tuesday.
The Huskers received one first-place vote, landing behind defending National Champions Stephen F. Austin. Vanderbilt snagged the first-place title, moving up one place in the rankings. McKendree landed the number two spot while Sam Houston State rounds out the top 5.
The Huskers begin this season with new leadership under new Head Coach Paul Klempa and new Assistant Coach Shannon Pluhowsky. The roster for the 2019-2020 season returns nine bowlers from last year's squad and adds three new players in transfer Leah Glazer and freshmen Amara Smith-Speights and Kayla Verstraete.
Nebraska begins its season Oct. 25-27 at the Bearcat Open in St. Louis, Mo., hosted by McKendree.
