Brown Named to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

Nebraska sophomore Leigha Brown earned a spot on the Big Ten Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in the regular-season finale at No. 22 Indiana on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Brown, a 6-1 guard/forward from Auburn, Ind., hit 7-of-12 shots from the field and 7-of-10 free throws against the Hoosiers. She scored 14 points in the first half to help the Huskers stay within striking distance at 33-27 at halftime. She was 4-for-7 from the field and 5-for-5 at the line the opening half.

She closed the regular season as Nebraska's leading scorer at 14.2 points per game - the highest scoring average by a Husker guard in Coach Amy Williams' four seasons at Nebraska.

Brown, a 2018 graduate of DeKalb High School, leads Nebraska to the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis this week. The Huskers will take on Michigan on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (CT), in a game televised by BTN.
