England Youth International Dale Signs with Huskers

The Nebraska soccer team announced the signing of Eleanor Dale on Thursday, who will join the team starting with the 2020 season.

The 5-8 forward from Billingham, England has been a member of the England U-17 and U-18 national teams, scoring five goals across nine appearances. She also plays for the Durham Women FC in the FA Women's Super League 2. Dale previously played for Middlesbrough Women FC.

"We are optimistic that Eleanor will be able to make an immediate impact for us in both goal scoring and the creation of goals," Head Coach John Walker said. "She has pace, running power, technique, good tactical movement and is willing to attack balls in the penalty area. She has scored goals at the youth national team level against good teams (including the United States) and we are hopeful that this will translate to NCAA soccer. Lastly, she plays with passion, aggression and energy and I see her being a good fit with our program."

"I chose to attend Nebraska because the opportunities they offer and the phenomenal balance between soccer and education," Dale said. "It is an excellent program for academics as well as soccer. I know I will improve massively by attending Nebraska, as the player development aspect of the program in place is exceptional. As soon as I visited, I knew that was where I wanted to be."
