A total of 13 Nebraska softball student-athletes were recognized as Academic All-Big Ten honorees on Wednesday, when the conference announced its spring and at-large Academic All-Big Ten Teams. Bree Boruff, Tristen Edwards, Olivia Ferrell, Carson Fischer, Mikaela Forcum, Lexey Kneib, Samantha Owen, Anni Raley, Ally Riley, Karlee Seevers, Rylie Unzicker, Lindsey Walljasper and Sarah Yocom were all honored for their efforts in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year. Nebraska's 13 picks ranked second among Big Ten softball schools behind Purdue (15).
Kneib, Edwards and Boruff received the award for the third time in their careers. Unzicker, Yocom, Riley and Ferrell earned the honor for the second consecutive year, while Fischer, Forcum, Walljasper, Seevers, Raley and Owen were first-time recipients.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
