Postgame Notes
*-Dalano Banton posted the second triple double in Husker men’s basketball history, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in 21 minutes of action. The other one was by Cam Mack against Purdue in 2019-20.
*-Banton’s 10 assists tied a career high set when he was at Western Kentucky against Wisconsin in 2018-19. Prior to tonight, that was his only career double-double and double-digit assist game in his college career. Banton has dished out five or more assists in five of NU’s seven games.
*-Tonight marked Nebraska’s second 100-point effort of the season (also 102 vs. McNeese State). It was the first time since 1995-96 that Nebraska had multiple 100-point games in a season.
*Nebraska’s 110 points was its highest output since scoring 115 points against Oregon on Nov. 25, 1995. It ranks tied for 12^th in school history for single-game points.
*-NU hit a season-high 12 3-pointers, topping the previous season high of 11 at Creighton on Dec. 11.
*-Trevor Lakes made his Nebraska debut after being cleared by the NCAA earlier Thursday. He finished with 12 points, on 4-of-5 3-pointers and six rebounds in 26 minutes.
*-Yvan Ouedraogo posted his first double-double of the season and fourth of his career with a career-high 13 points and 13 rebounds in 18 minutes.
*-Eduardo Andre also made his Husker debut after missing NU’s first six games. Andre had nine points on 4-of-4 shooting, four boards and two blocked shots in 14 minutes.
*-Elijah Wood scored his first career points on a 3-pointer to beat the first half buzzer and finished with eight points.
*-Nebraska put at least five players in double figures for the third time this season (also McNeese and South Dakota), while four others had at least eight points.
*-Nebraska dished out a season-high 25 assists and had a season low eight turnovers.
*-Doane’s 46 3-point attempts broke Nebraska’s single-game record for opponent, which was 37 by Baylor on Feb. 14, 1998.

On heading into Big Ten play
"Going into the very first opportunity in league play is to go against the team that won the league last year and it's a huge team, a physical team. They'll post up any player one through five. They start [Micah] Potter and [Nate] Reuvers who are two of the better bigs in our league and they're both shooting over 50 percent from the 3-point line. It's going to be a really tough battle. This thing could become a grind. I know a lot of people have talked about how this whole thing has affected guys in different ways so I thought it was important to get our guys confidence. Going back and talking about it, I know not everybody loved that we played this game, but I know the state of our team right now and the importance of getting out and our guys feeling good about themselves is important. This was a good game for us. Hopefully we can build on it and get guys feeling good. We shot percent, had 25 assists and eight turnovers, so we did a lot of things we've been stressing and working on as opposed to going into Wisconsin without having played a game in 12 days or played a high, major grind-out game. It was exactly what we needed and it happened at the right time."
 
On Eduardo Andre’s performance
"You can see it. He's a confident kid. He's been playing basketball about four years. To see some of the moves that he made on the block, I didn't see any jitters at all out there. I thought he made a couple really nice plays off the dribble. [He] gave Yvan [Ouedraogo] a nice post feed there towards the end. That kid's got a lot of upside. He's a guy who's going to get better as he gets stronger and grows into his body. You just can't teach his size with almost seven feet tall and a 7'5 wingspan. Great to see him block a couple shots in there. We've missed that the last couple of years so he's going to be a big piece of our future."
 
On Dalano Banton's triple-double
"I was going to play those guys 20-22 minutes and he played 21. He was pretty impressive. He had the 8-7-7 at halftime and then I think in the first couple of minutes in the second half it's 10-9-9 all of a sudden. Teddy [Allen] missed a couple that Dalano [Banton] set him up with and it was great to see him get that last one so we could get him out of there. It's fun when you can have something like that happen. The guys were pumped up for him in the locker room. It's a heck of an accomplishment. Dalano is just, it's who he is. He's been close a couple times already this season. That's what he does. He's a guy that has such a unique great all-around game with tremendous size."
