Husker Bowling Unveils 2021 Schedule
Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling team will begin its quest for a sixth NCAA title this month, as the Huskers announced their 2020-21 schedule on Wednesday.

The Huskers, who were fourth in the National Tenpin Coaches Association preseason poll, will have a reduced schedule this spring with six regular-season tournaments, beginning with the MOTIV Penguin Classic from Jan. 15-17. Traditionally, the Huskers bowl in both the fall and spring, but did not compete in the fall.

"We are excited to get back to competition after 10 months since our last competitive event," Nebraska Bowling Coach Paul Klempa said. "The team has been waiting patiently, and we like the competitive schedule we have been able to coordinate during these challenging times. The team needs the competition and so do the coaches."

The Huskers have three tournaments in January, including the Penguin Classic, the Columbia 300 Saints Invite (Jan. 22-24) and the Prairie View Invitational (Jan. 29-31). Nebraska's February slate is highlighted by the lone home tournament, as the Huskers will host the Big Red Invitational at Hollywood Bowl from Feb. 26-28.

The regular season finishes at the Music City Classic (March 5-7) before postseason play begins. The 2021 NCAA Championships will take place in North Kansas City, at AMF Pro Bowl Lanes.

Despite losing 2020 National Bowler of the Year Raquel Orozco, the Huskers return a majority of their lineup from a year ago, including All-Americans Cassidy Ray and Leah Glazer. Nebraska brings back six letterwinners from a team that went 79-35 and won four regular-season tournament titles in 2019-20 before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the Huskers add a three-member recruiting class that includes Duquesne transfer Crystal Elliott.
