Nebraska Remains Fourth In Recent Poll

Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling team holds onto the fourth-place spot in the NTCA Coach's Poll released on Thursday.

The top four teams remain the same with McKendree in first followed by No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Arkansas State, Nebraska and No. 5 Louisiana Tech.

"The margin between the top teams is very slim this season," said Nebraska Head Coach Paul Klempa. "This makes for extremely competitive matches when we face each other head-to-head and should make for an exciting postseason as well."

The Huskers boast a 17-8 record through two tournaments this season. The bowlers earned a fourth-place finish at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite and a third-place trophy at the Prairie View Invitational.

NU has seen eight different bowlers make appearances in Crystal Elliott, Michelle Guarro, Kendyl Hofmeister, Gwen Maeha, Cassidy Ray, Amara Smith Speights and Kayla Verstraete. Elliott earned a fourth-place finish while competing in the Columbia 300 Saints Invite. At the Prairie View Invitational, Maeha earned an eighth-place finish while Verstraete bowled to ninth. All three have seen their first action with the Huskers as starters.
