Lincoln To Host Senior World Team Trials

USA Wrestling has announced that the 2021 Senior World Team Trials will be held at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 11-12.
 
These trials will determine which wrestlers will represent the U.S. team in the 2021 Senior World Championships on Oct. 2-10 in Oslo, Norway. The 10 World Championship weight classes in all three disciplines (men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman) will be featured.
 
Former Husker greats Jordan Burroughs, James Green, Tyler Berger and TJ Dudley are expected to compete at the event.
 
Lincoln has hosted past USA wrestling events, including the UWW U23 Nationals in May 2021 and the 2019 UWW Freestyle World Championships. It has also hosted the 2017 Freestyle World Team Trials at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Other USA Wrestling events held in Lincoln were the UWW Junior National Championships in 2000, 2001 and 2004, and the Cadet National Championships in 1995.

Session 2: Challenge Tournament: Semifinals and Consolations 5:30 PM-8:30 PM
 
Sunday, Sept. 12
 
Session 3: Challenge Tournament: Consolations and 3rd place 10:00 AM-1:30 PM
 
Session 4: Final two out of three Championship Series 2:00 PM-5:00 PM
