Bond Wins Gold at the Panam Bowling Elite Championships

Cali, Columbia - Newly named Assistant Bowling Coach, Julia Bond, won a gold medal as part of a trio at the 2021 Panam Bowling Elite Championships.

Bond, a fifth-year member of Team USA and was previously a member of Junior Team USA for four years, made her international debut on the adult team.

"Winning the gold medal in trios was amazing," said Bond. "My teammates and I communicated well throughout the day and it was great having that kind of support. The lane conditions are very hard here in Colombia, but that makes the wins feel so much better. Our next goal is to win the gold in team event, and I feel pretty confident that if we communicate as well as we have been, and stand behind each other every shot we'll have a great chance to put ourselves at the top of the podium."

Bond bowled alongside Bryanna Coté and Sydney Brummett. After a slow start on Wednesday morning of 546, the trio came back strong and took the title by a 70-pin margin. The trio averaged 198.33 with a 3,570 total with Bond personally averaging 210.5 with a 1,263 pinfall.

Bond will be one of the Team USA representatives for the Champion of Champions event.
