NU Divers Head to Zone Championships

All three Nebraska divers are headed to compete in the 2022 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Madison, Wis., March 7-9.

The Zone Championships, hosted at Soderholm Aquatic Center, serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships.

Sara Troyer has been a leader in the diving well all season and hopes to secure her bid for the third-consecutive year. The senior from Goshen, Ind., placed 10th on the one meter and 12th on the three meter at Zones last season to earn her spot at nationals, where she earned a top-25 one meter finish.

Senior Hallie Roman and sophomore Reagan Hinze have each posted career-bests this season to earn their first trip to the Zone Championships.

On Monday, one meter prelims are set to begin at 11 a.m. (CT), with the top 18 divers to be sent to the finals at 2:40 p.m. (CT). Three meter will take place on Tuesday and follow the same time schedule.

In Zone D, the top 10 divers in one meter and top 11 divers in three meter will punch their tickets to nationals.  A Nebraska diver has earned a spot at NCAAs for eight consecutive years, and the NU trio hopes to continue the streak.
