Eight Huskers Advance at USBC Queens

Addison, Ill. – A total of eight former Husker bowlers advanced to bracket play at the 2022 United States Bowling Congress Queens, the first major of the Professional Women's Bowling Association Tour.

Liz Kuhlkin enters bracket play as the No. 2 seed in bracket play after finishing with a pinfall of 3,345 in 15 games. Kuhlkin, who finished second at last week's Rockford Open, was the only player in this week's field to have three blocks of 1,100 or better.

Kuhlkin was one of three former Huskers who placed in the top 10 in three rounds of qualifying. Gazmine Mason placed sixth with a qualifying score of 3,244, while Cassandra Leuthold is seventh with a total of 3,241.

Other Husker qualifiers to bracket play include Lindsay Boomershine (3,173, 12th), Erin McCarthy (3,175, 14th), Shannon Pluhowsky (3,141, 17th), Diandra Asbaty (3,081, 31st) and Julia Bond (3,050, 40th).

In all, 64 players advanced to bracket play, which begins Sunday morning. Bracket matches consist of three games, with total pinfall determining the winner. The top five players will advance to the stepladder finals in hopes of winning the top prize, while the winner of bracket play will be in the No. 1 seed in Tuesday's televised finals on CBS Sports Network.
