Six Huskers Earn Scholar All-America Honors

Three Nebraska swimmers and a trio of Husker divers earned spots on the 2022 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America announced by the CSCAA on Wednesday, June 29.

Autumn Haebig, a fifth-year senior from Grafton, Wis., captured first-team Scholar All-America honors for the third time in her illustrious career. The two-time NCAA All-American and three-time CSCAA All-American earned her bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations from Nebraska in May of 2022. She was the 2021 Big Ten Champion in the 200 freestyle and closed her career as the school record-holder in the 100 back, 200 free, 500 free 100-meter back and 400-meter free.

Ella Stein, a sophomore in 2021-22 for the Huskers, added second-team CSCAA Scholar All-America accolades. The advertising and public relations major from Hudson, Wis., was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2022. Stein finished 14th in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at the 2022 Big Ten Championships.

True freshman JoJo Randby added second-team CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the Husker swimmers. The Omaha Marian graduate earned a pair of top-20 finishes in the breaststroke events at the 2022 Big Ten Championships while excelling in the classroom as a human resources management major.

In the diving well, Sara Troyer captured her fourth spot on the CSCAA All-America teams by capturing second-team honors. The two-time CSCAA All-American from Goshen, Ind., earned her bachelor's degree in child, youth and family studies from Nebraska in December of 2021.

Senior Hallie Roman added second-team CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the first time in her career. The hospitality, restaurant and tourism management major from Port Huron, Mich., qualified for the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships after a top-16 finish on the one-meter board at the 2022 Big Ten Championships.

Reagan Hinze rounded out Nebraska's list of six CSCAA Scholar All-Americans in 2022 by earning second-team honors. The sophomore from Conroe, Texas produced career bests in the one-meter, three-meter and platform dives while earning her first career appearance at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships. The performing arts major is also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Overall, more than 1,200 men's and women's swimmers and divers were named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams in 2021-22. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. First-team Scholar All-Americans participated in their respective national championship meet, while second-team Scholar All-Americans achieved an NCAA B time standard or competed at a zone diving championship.
