Lincoln - The Nebraska bowling team announced the signing of Lani Breedlove (Montgomery Ill.) on Friday for the 2023-24 season.
A captain of the Oswego high school bowling team, Breedlove received a 2022 IHSA third-place team finish, as well as a 2022 IHSA fourth-place finish in the individual portion. Breedlove has a high game of 300 and a high series of 746. Among many accomplishments, Breedlove holds an impressive resume of achievements throughout her high school career including all-state teams, high school female athlete of the year, three-time all conference team and an impressive four high school titles from her junior year alone.
"We are so excited that Lani has decided to join our Husker Family," Head Coach Paul Klempa said. "She is a solid player who is a team captain at her high school and was awarded the female athlete of the year as well. Lani has a very well developed game and has a track record of success that will help our program in the future. Lani is a welcome addition to the class of 2023."
Academically, Breedlove is just as competitive in the classroom as the lanes, as she is both a member of the National Honor Society and the honor roll (4.0 and above).
"I chose Nebraska because I loved the culture immediately when I walked on campus," Breedlove said. "The treatment of athletes in order for them to perform at their best was mind blowing. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of this culture and leave my mark at Nebraska."
Lani is the daughter of Michelle and Chris Breedlove and has an older sister, Brittany.
