Huskers Set for Big Ten Tournament

The Nebraska softball team (33-19, 13-10 Big Ten) is set to travel to Champaign, Ill., for the Big Ten Tournament this week, May 10-13. The Huskers go in as a No. 4 seed, receiving a bye for the first round of the tournament. NU will take on the winner of No. 12 Illinois and No. 5 Wisconsin on Thursday, May 11, at 7 p.m. (CT). 
 

All tournament games will be broadcasted live on the Big Ten Network. Fans can listen to the action live on the Huskers Radio Network and Huskers.com with the call from Nate Rohr. 
 

The Huskers enter the Big Ten Tournament as the defending champions. In 2022, Nebraska claimed its first Big Ten Tournament title with a 3-1 victory over Michigan in eight innings. 
 

Nebraska's offense is currently ranked in the top three in the Big Ten in batting average (.311), hits (436), home runs (57) and slugging percentage (.502). Freshman Katelyn Caneda has lead the Big Red offense through the regular season, holding a .382 batting average, a mark that ranks sixth in the conference. Junior Billie Andrews has added 63 hits, 45 runs and 15 home runs. 
 

Senior Courtney Wallace (22-13) has been a leader in the circle for Nebraska, appearing in 197.0 innings. She has tallied 122 strikeouts while pitching 19 complete games. Wallace is second in the Big Ten victories with 22. Sarah Harness (10-5) has added 100.1 innings of work, adding 91 strikeouts for the Huskers.

  • Nebraska is second in the conference in batting average (.311) and 27th in the nation.
