• The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team wraps up non-conference play on Sunday when it hosts No. 21 Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

ABOUT THE HUSKERS
• Nebraska (8-0) has won its first eight matches of the season for the first time since 2016, when NU started 12-0. In Tuesday’s 3-1 win at No. 5 Stanford, the Huskers began a stretch of playing five consecutive ranked teams.
• The Huskers, who led the nation in defense in 2022, have held their seven opponents this season to a combined .076 hitting percentage, which ranks first nationally.
• The Big Red is averaging 2.98 blocks per set, which ranks 11th in the country.
• Two-time All-America junior libero Lexi Rodriguez paces the Husker defense with 3.38 digs per set.
• Freshman outside hitter Harper Murray is averaging 3.08 kills per set on .320 hitting. Murray was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Aug. 28 after averaging 3.67 kills per set with a .343 hitting percentage at the Ameritas Players Challenge.
• Junior opposite hitter Merritt Beason, a Florida transfer, contributes a team-leading 3.15 kills per set and 1.89 digs per set.
• Sophomore middle blocker Bekka Allick ranks second nationally with 1.75 blocks per set. Allick is also hitting .286 wit 1.60 kills per set.
• Freshman middle blocker Andi Jackson is off to a strong start as a Husker, averaging 2.26 kills per set on a team-high .518 hitting percentage, which ranks fourth nationally. Jackson is also contributing 1.35 blocks per set.
• Freshman setter Bergen Reilly is putting up 9.35 assists and 2.69 digs per set. Reilly became just the second true freshman setter to be a day one starter under John Cook (Nicklin Hames).
• Nebraska was the last NCAA Division I program to drop a set this season when Creighton won set three of NU’s 3-1 win on Sept. 6. The Huskers had opened the season with 17 consecutive set wins. The Huskers have dropped just two out of 26 sets played this season.
SCOUTING REPORT: KENTUCKY
• Kentucky enters the match with a 2-5 record, but four of the five losses are to teams in the top 20 of the AVCA Coaches Poll (No. 2 Louisville, No. 8 Pittsburgh twice, and No. 17 Purdue). Kentucky also fell at Colorado State in four sets but has beaten No. 22 Houston.
• Reagan Rutherford leads the Wildcats with 3.63 kills per set and is hitting .284. Rutherford was a third-team All-American last year.
• Setter Emma Grome, a second-team All-American last year, is putting up 10.81 assists per set.
• The Wildcats are hitting .228 on the season allowing opponents to hit .273.
SERIES HISTORY
• Nebraska is 10-2 against Kentucky all-time. The Huskers have won nine matches in a row in the series, including a sweep in Lexington last September.
• Kentucky’s last win against Nebraska was in 1983.
• Nebraska head coach John Cook has faced off against Kentucky head coach Craig Skinner, a Nebraska assistant from 2000-04, five times. The Huskers have won all five matches, three in sweeps and two in four sets.
NO. 4 HUSKERS TOPPLE NO. 5 STANFORD ON THE ROAD
• STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team toppled No. 5 Stanford, 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21) on Tuesday night at Maples Pavilion.
• It marked the Huskers’ first regular-season road win against a top-five team since 2017 (at No. 2 Penn State). Nebraska improved to 8-0 for the first time since 2016. Stanford fell to 6-2 on the season.
• Merritt Beason led the Big Red with 15 kills, while Harper Murray put down 12 kills on .417 hitting with four blocks and three ace serves. Andi Jackson tallied eight kills on .462 hitting, and Bekka Allick chipped in seven kills on .500 hitting with a career-high eight blocks. Lindsay Krause recorded seven kills.
• Nebraska hit .333, while Stanford hit .218. The Huskers had three more blocks (11.5-8.5) and four more kills (52-48). NU also had eight more digs (38-30). Lexi Rodriguez had 12 digs, while Bergen Reilly had seven digs to go with 37 assists and three kills.
• Both teams had four aces, while Nebraska made 17 service errors and Stanford 15. The Cardinal were led by 15 kills from Caitie Baird.
