Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska bowling team has announced the cancellation of the Big Red Invite that was set to take place at Hollywood Bowl in Lincoln, Neb., from Feb. 23-25.
"We are saddened to announce the cancellation of the Big Red Invite this year due to a number of reasons that unfortunately made the event no longer feasible," head coach Paul Klempa said. "Our plan, however, is to bring the event back in 2025."
NU will instead travel to Greensboro, N.C., that same weekend where they will compete in the Stallings Invitational for the first time in program history. North Carolina A&T will host the fifth-annual NCATSU Stallings Invitational that last year drew seven ranked teams, including four ranked within the top 10.
Up next, NU returns to the lanes, Feb. 9-11 for the Flyer Classic in Lockport, Ill., coming off a fourth-place finish at the Prairie View A&M Invite. Kayla Verstraete was named tournament MVP for the first time in her four-year career after finishing first with 1,418 pins.
