The No. 23 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team was selected to be a part of the Arkansas regional of the 2024 NCAA Championships, which is set for April 3-6. NU was placed in the second round of the regional and will compete against No. 7 Kentucky, No. 10 Arkansas and Arizona.
This marks the 39th time the Big Red has earned an NCAA Championship berth, and the second straight as a team.
"We are super excited to not only be 'dancing' on, but to go back down to Arkansas," Head Coach Heather Brink said. "We were just there a few weeks ago and know exactly what to expect in the environment. It's a great place to compete in."
NU is led by All-Big Ten honorees Emma Spence (first-team), Kinsey Davis (second-team) and Sophia McClelland (second-team). The team is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Big Ten Championships and a score of 196.250. In the three meets before the conference championships, Nebraska notched three-straight scores of 197.000 or above.
The top two teams from each session of the Arkansas regional will qualify for the regional finals, and the top two teams from the regional finals will qualify for the championship round, which takes place April 18-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The other three regional sites are Ann Arbor, Mich., Gainesville, Fla. and Berkeley, Calif.
