The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) recognized six wrestlers, Kyle Burwick, Brock Hardy, Nash Hutmacher, Hayden Mills, Peyton Robb and Caleb Smith, as Division I Scholar All-Americans.
Robb and Burwick lead the group as they are both four-time honorees. Robb finished his impressive Husker career with many academic accolades and a 102-35 career mark, becoming the 31st wrestler to surpass 100 career wins in a Nebraska singlet. Burwick wrapped up his junior season with a 7-3 overall record and currently has a 40-35 career record.
Two-time NCAA All-American Hardy was named a Scholar All-American for the third time in his career after climbing the consolation ladder at the NCAA Championships and finishing third. Smith, a native of High Point, N.C., claimed his first career NCAA All-American honor last month and was named a scholar athlete for the second time.
Rounding out the group are Hutmacher and Mills who were honored for the first time in their careers. Hutmacher concluded the year with a sixth-place finish at the Big Ten Tournament, while Mills finished the year with a 19-7 mark.
