Nebraska track and field’s Till Steinforth, originally an alternate, will officially be competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Representing Germany, Steinforth will begin the decathlon at 3:05 a.m. (CT) on Aug. 2 with the 100m. After competing in the first five events, he’ll resume on Aug. 3 with the final five events. The 1500m is the 10th and final event and is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.
The Saxony-Anhalt, Germany native has been a force for Nebraska the last few years, garnering four First-Team All-America honors, two Big Ten titles and two Nebraska school records. After this past indoor season, Steinforth was named the 2024 Nebraska Male Athlete of the Year and the 2024 Indoor Midwest Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
