Led by a combined eight points from seniors Sarah Weber and Abbey Schwarz, the Nebraska soccer team defeated Kansas City 5-1 in exhibition play at Hibner Stadium on Monday night.
The Huskers attacked early, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes, as Schwarz found the back of the net for NU’s first goals of the season. In the second half, Nebraska stayed on the attack as Lincoln native Abby Vacek recorded a goal of her own, while Emma Prososki added an assist for the 5-0 advantage. Kansas City then got on the board with Breckynn Pugh’s finish, but NU held steady the remaining 10 minutes and claimed the 5-1 victory.
