Husker Women's Golfers Named to Preseason Watch List

Miu Takahashi, Arden Louchheim and Hannah Kono were included among the Big Ten Women's Golfers to Watch named by the conference for the 2024-25 season on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Nebraska's most experienced golfer, Takahashi has played in more than 100 rounds for the Huskers during her collegiate career. The senior from Nasu-machi, Japan, owns nine career-top 25 finishes, including five career top-10 performances. She helped the Huskers to NCAA Regional bids in both 2021 and 2023. The 2023 Nebraska Women's Amateur of the Year, Takahashi owns the No. 3 career stroke average (74.89) in school history, including the Nebraska sophomore season stroke average record (73.49) in 2023. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice and a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Louchheim, a sophomore from Park City, Utah, is in her second season with the Huskers. Last season she competed in 30 rounds for the Big Red as a true freshman, including an appearance at the Big Ten Championship. The three-time Utah state champion earned WGCA Scholastic All-America honors as well as a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Another sophomore, Hannah Kono made an instant impact this week in her first appearance as a Husker. The second-year collegian from Enkoping, Sweden, led Nebraska with her tie for 17th at the season-opening Badger Invitational. Kono transferred from Oakland (Mich.) University to Nebraska after taking sixth individually at the 2024 Horizon League Championship. She went on to tie for 41st at the 2024 NCAA East Lansing Regional before earning WGCA Scholastic All-America honors.

The Huskers will be back in action at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas (Sept. 24-25).
