The Nebraska women’s tennis team is kicking off its fall individual season in Texas and North Carolina this weekend. Six Huskers will travel to Waco, Texas to compete in the H-E-B Invitational, and one will make the trip to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships.
NU has three returning letterwinners, Lucy Loy, Ana Zamburek and Maria Taranova. Also returning is Reya Lee Coe, joined by Yuzu Miyoshi, Emma Rizzetto and Tiziana Rossini in making their Big Red debuts. Zamburek, who went 19-10 in singles in the 2023-24 season, is in the prequalifying draw for the ITA All-American Championships, which have 10 spots up for grabs for the NCAA singles championships this fall. The ITA All-American Championships will run from Sept. 21-29.
Coe, Loy, Miyoshi, Rizzetto, Rossini and Taranova will compete at the H-E-B Invite, Sept. 20-22. The invite, hosted at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center will also feature athletes from Illinois, Colorado, Arizona and a handful of Texas programs. Both tournaments will have live stats and live streaming available.
