Huskers Reveal Conference Slate

The Nebraska softball team announced its Big Ten schedule on Tuesday. The Big Red’s conference docket includes 22 total games across eight series. The Huskers will host four conference opponents and travel to four opponents. 

Three of NU’s Big Ten foes qualified for the NCAA tournament in 2024 – Northwestern, Indiana and Washington. In addition to those three opponents, Nebraska will face Ohio State, Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa and Maryland in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will open conference play with a two-game conference series March 14-16 at Ohio State with the teams agreeing to play a third game that weekend that will not count toward the conference standings.

The Huskers then open Big Ten home competition with the Minnesota Golden Gophers on March 21-23 at Bowlin Stadium. Friday’s game will start at 5 p.m. (CT), Saturday’s first pitch is set for 1 p.m. (CT) and Sunday’s finale will begin at Noon (CT). NU will then welcome Purdue for games on March 28, 29 and 30. 

The Huskers will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to take on the Hawkeyes from April 4-6 and Evanston, Ill., to face Northwestern from April 11-13. 

Nebraska hosts its only two-game series of the year against Indiana on Friday, April18 and Saturday, April 19 before traveling to compete against Washington in Seattle from April 25-27. 

The Big Red will close out conference competition with a home series against Maryland from May 2-4. 

The 2025 Big Ten Tournament is set for May 7-11 and will be hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Last season, the Big Red set numerous attendance records, including hosting all five of the top five crowds in program history. The largest crowd of 2,691 came when the Huskers faced Northwestern on April 27. The Big Red owned an overall record of 30-23 and a conference mark of 12-9.
