Four Huskers Preselected for CGA All-Star Meet

The College Gymnastics Association has pre-selected four Husker gymnasts to compete in the All-Star Meet on January 3, 2025. Graduate student Taylor Christopulos will compete in the floor exercise and vault; junior Asher Cohen will compete on still rings, while graduate student Zac Tiderman and sophomore Max Odden will compete on high bar for Team West. Team West is led by Head Coach Thom Glielmi of Stanford and will go against Team East, led by Xiao Yuan of Michigan.  

Christopulos, Cohen, and Tiderman are coming off of All-American honors at the 2024 NCAA Championships in their respective events. 

Christopulos will compete alongside Stanford’s Jeremy Bischoff on floor and Oklahoma’s Max Bereznev on the vault. The team captain earned his career-best on floor exercise last season with a 14.75 against Illinois. The eight-time All-American placed second in the NCAA Championships on the floor. For vault, Christopulos also received a perfect score of 15.00 at the NCAA Championships and placed fourth. 

Cohen earned his first All-American honor last season on still rings, recording his career-best against the Fighting Illini with a score of 14.05. Cohen will compete with Arun Chhetri of Stanford. 

Tiderman and Odden will complete the preselected gymnasts for high bar. Team Captain Tiderman finished in second on high bar at the NCAA Championships, also earning his career best last season with a 14.65 at the tri-meet against Army and Greenville. Odden earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors with a career-best of 13.85 on high bar, achieving a first-place finish against Illinois.

Each event will have four gymnasts, fans can vote for the last two gymnasts per event by interacting with the gymnasts on social media. Round One will open from October 28 to November 2 at 4 p.m. (CT).  The top five gymnasts with the most likes will earn their way to the second round, where fans will vote on the other two spots for the All-Star Team on the CGA website from November 6-7. The team will be announced on November 8.
