Rosemont, Ill. - Nebraska Coach Amy Williams, three-time preseason first-team All-Big Ten center Alexis Markowski and 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Natalie Potts will represent the Huskers at Big Ten Women's Basketball Media Day presented by TIAA at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on Wednesday.
The Huskers will be among the 18 head coaches and 36 women's basketball players from across the conference expected to meet with more than 100 media members at the in-person event featuring live telecasts throughout the day on the Big Ten Network.
Williams will help BTN tip off its live coverage at 9 a.m. (CT) with her appearance alongside Iowa's Jan Jensen and Minnesota's Dawn Plitzuweit with BTN's Mike Hall and Kylen Mills on B1G Live: Women's Basketball Coaches Roundtable.
Williams, who is in her ninth season leading the Huskers, will be back live on BTN at 11:30 a.m. (CT) alongside Markowski and Potts.
Markowski, a 6-3 senior center from Lincoln, Neb., earned first-team All-Big Ten honors a year ago by averaging team bests of 15.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She powered Nebraska to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game and an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while producing 19 double-doubles on the season. Markowski, who was the 2022 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, was a second-team All-Big Ten choice as a sophomore. She is a two-time Lisa Leslie Award candidate.
Potts helped put her stamp on the Husker program as a true freshman, averaging 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds. The eight-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten accolades from the league media. The 6-2 forward from O'Fallon, Mo., was a unanimous choice on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team after starting all 35 games for the 23-12 Big Red.
In addition to their live television appearances, the Huskers will participate in scheduled interviews from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with BTN, NBC, Sirius XM and other national, regional and local media on site in Chicago.
