Huskers Kick Off Postseason at Big Ten Championships

The Nebraska men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the Big Ten Championships at the Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Ill., on Friday, Nov. 1. The women’s 6k will start at 10:35 a.m. and the men’s 8k will start at 11:35 a.m.

The races will be televised on the Big Ten Network with live results from PT Timing. 

Last Time Out
The Huskers competed at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. The women placed third with 105 points in an impressive field that included No. 6 Utah (first, 25 points) and No. 12 Oregon (second, 53 points). The whole women’s scoring lineup posted personal bests at the meet. Berlyn Schutz placed fourth with a time of 20.06.20, Ali Bainbridge was seventh at 20:08.6, and Brynna McQuillen (19th, 20:35.6), Taya Skelton (36th, 20:57.8) and Cami Merickel (54th, 21:21.5) rounded out the lineup.

The men’s team finished in 11th in the 8k, scoring 300 points as a team. Trevor Acton led the team with a personal-best time of 24:23.60 to finish 60th. Sam Kirchner was 66th with a time of 24:26.6 and Liem Chot placed 69th with a 24:31.6. Grant Wasserman (84th, 24:37.7) and Dennis Chapman (84th, 24:42.3) finished out the scoring.
