Scarlet opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first when a Bredwell single sent Bahl to the plate. Dakota Carter stole home after coming in to pinch run for Kuszak and Tokheim sent a home run to center field to give Scarlet a 3-0 lead.

Scarlet extended the lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the third behind a run from Carter and a Nessa McMillen sacrifice fly that scored Bredwell.

Cream got on the board in the top of the fourth on a Hannah Camenzind run – brought in by a double from Bella Bacon – to make the score 5-1.

Scarlet responded in the bottom of the fourth, making its lead 6-1, after Bahl notched her second run of the night.

In the bottom of the fifth, Natalia Hill singled up the middle to score McMillen and stretch the advantage to 7-1.

Cream made the score 7-2 in the top of the sixth on a H. Camenzind single that turned into a DiNardo run.

Tokheim posted another run in the bottom of the sixth for Scarlet, after McMillen reached first base on an error. Scarlet led 8-2 going into the final inning.

Cream fought back in the bottom of the seventh, cutting the deficit to 8-7 behind a Lauren Camenzind double and Olivia DiNardo home run, but Scarlet held on to close out the 8-7 victory.
