The Nebraska women's soccer team welcomed 11 athletes for the 2025 season, including three forwards, five midfielders, a pair of defenders and a goalkeeper.
Carson Bohonek
Bettendorf High School
Bettendorf, Iowa
Forward
Bohonek, a native of Bettendorf, Iowa, played for Coach Allison Sanyi at Bettendorf High School where she helped the team to its first state title since 1998. The two-time All-State and All-Conference honoree was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and Iowa Female Soccer Player of the Year in 2024, as she's tallied 96 goals and 26 assists. On the club side, Bohonek competed for Sporting Iowa ECNL under Coach Daryl Brazeau, earning Midwest Conference Second-Team honors and a spot in both the 2023 Dallas National Selection and 2024 ECNL Conference Cup matches.

Mila Brach

Brach, a native of Los Angeles, California, played for Coach Marcus Meakin at Notre Dame High School, where she earned First-Team All-CIF, First-Team All-Mission League and NDHS Junior Athlete of the Year honors. She helped the team to the Mission League/CIF playoffs in 2023 and a third-place finish in the league in 2024. Individually, Brach led the team in goals, assists and points in both 2023 and 2024, was the first three-time team captain in over 20 years and is the first player to advance multiple times to the CIF Quarterfinals. On the club side, Brach played for Nick Hazell at LA Breakers FC - ECNL, helping the team to a Top 10 ECNL finish in 2024.

Mia Calrone

A native of Newtown, Pennsylvania, Cairone played for Coach Gavin Flannigan at Council Rock High School North, where she has tallied 65 goals, 30 assists and four hat tricks. Cairone is a three-time CR North Best Attacking Player, a 2023 First-Team Suburban One League honoree and CR North MVP, an all-regional and all-state player in 2023 and a four-time leading scorer. Cairone is also a three-time all-league honoree and helped her high school to two conference championships and four playoff appearances. On the club side, Cairone competed for PDA Blue ECNL, earning two national championship appearances and a top-five finish.

Alessandra Geraneo
Bill Crothers Secondary School
Markham, Ontario, Canada
Midfielder
Geraneo attended Bill Crothers Secondary School and played for Coaches Laura Gosse and Richard Alexander at Markham FC from 2015-2022 and for Coaches Joey Lombardi and Melissa Bigg after 2022. She was named the highest scoring midfielder in 2022, scoring 16 goals. She was a three-time member of the school honor roll and will graduate in the spring of 2025.

Greer Kice

Kice, a goalkeeper from Wichita, Kansas, played for Nathan Wilkey and Justin Kenas at The Classic School of Wichita. In 2024, Kice was named to the First-Team All-State team and earned the Goalkeeper of the Year honor. She also was named to the 2023 All-State Second team and was a 2022 All-State Honorable Mention. During her freshman season, Kice tallied 187 saves before adding 179 in 2022 and 116 in 2023. She plays for Coach Adam Hunter for Kansas Rush and has been selected for both the ODP Regional and WPSL teams.

Kianna Perez
Lincoln Southwest High School
Lincoln, Nebraska
Midfielder
Perez played for Coach Thomas Nettleton at Lincoln Southwest High School, where she was ECNL All-Conference First Team and a member of the All-State, All-Nebraska, All-City and HAC All-Conference teams. In her first three years at Southwest, she helped the team to the 2024 NSAA State Championship and three-time District Championships, while scoring 29 goals. On the club side, she competed for Coach Mitch Kavanaugh at Gretna Elite Academy, helping the team to the Champions League Playoffs in 2024, while earning All-Conference First-Team honors.
Perez on Nebraska: “I chose Nebraska because I grew up around the culture and fell in love with it. It has been my dream since I was little to play soccer for Nebraska and represent my hometown.”
Sadie Sant
Blue Valley Southwest High School
Overland Park, Kansas
Midfielder
Sant played for Coach Erik Jones at Blue Valley Southwest High School, where she was named to the First Team All-State and First Team All-EKL in 2024, and the Second Team All-State and the Second Team All-EKL in 2023. She helped her team to the regional championship in 2023 and 2024 and a state runner-up finish in 2024. On the club side, Sant competed for Colin Bulwich at Sporting Blue Valley, as she was named to the Midwest All-Conference First Team in 2022-2023. As a team, Sporting Blue Valley won the North American Cup Championship in 2023-2024, and made it to the Round of 16 in 2021-2022.

Matigann Vixayvong
Academy of Holy Angels

Midfielder
A native of Minnesota, Vixayvong played for Coach Dave Marshak at the Academy of Holy Angels, earning All-State and Tri-Metro All-Conference honors in 2023 and 2024. In two high school seasons, Vixayvong has scored 24 goals and recorded 21 assists, while helping the team to two section and conference championships, and a pair of state runner-up finishes. Vixayvong also plays for Coach Danny Storline at the Minnesota Thunder Academy where she was named to the Midwest First Team All-Conference and earned an invite to the ECNL Conference Cup match.

Karli Williams
Gretna East High School
Gretna, Nebraska
Midfielder
Williams, a native of Gretna, was a 2023 First-Team Super State, a two-time LJS Super State First Team and a 2024 OWH All-State Second Team honoree, playing for Coach Chafe Hutchison at Gretna East High School. The midfielder, who scored six goals her junior year, helped Gretna to two Class A State Championships and a 44-0 combined record, before transferring to Gretna East where she earned her third State Championship and a 21-1 record. Williams competed at the Gretna Elite Academy on the club side for Coach Jon Brezenski, earning 2023 First-Team ECNL Midwest Conference and 2021/2022 ECNL Second-Team Midwest Conference honors.

Charlie Wistrom
Glendale High School
Springfield, Missouri
Forward
Wistrom played for Coach Jeff Rogers at Glendale High School, where she was named to the All-State and All-Conference teams. She helped Glendale to a second-place finish and a district championship in 2022. Wistrom also lettered in soccer, where she helped the team to a sixth-place finish at state. On the club side, Wistrom competed for Coach Lindsey Bryant at Lou Fusz where her team won the 2023 GA National Championship. Additionally, Wistrom’s father, Grant, played for the Nebraska football team and was an anchor on the Husker defense from 1994 to 1997, winning three national titles.
Wistrom on Nebraska: “I chose Nebraska because I grew up around campus and got to experience the atmosphere it provided. It has never felt like anything but home to me.”
Taylor Yablonski
Laurel Springs School
Celina, Texas
Defender
A Texas native, Yablonski played for Coach Grubb at FC Dallas U18/U19 ECNL and was a constant in both the midfield and backfield. She comes from an athletic family as her father, Jeremy, played hockey for 12 years in the NHL and her mother, Kerstin, played college basketball.
Yablonski on Nebraska: “When selecting a university to continue my soccer career, Nebraska was the clear choice.
