The No. 3 Nebraska wrestling team returns to the Devaney Center on Friday, Dec. 20, to host a triangular with the Augustana (S.D.) Vikings and the UN-Kearney Lopers. The “Holiday Havoc” duals are the first at home in over a month for the Big Red, after winning the Navy Classic and finishing second at the Cliff Keen Invitational.
The neutral dual between Augustana (S.D.) and UN-Kearney will begin at 2:30 p.m. (CT), before the Huskers take on the Vikings at 4 p.m. Following the conclusion of the second dual, the Big Red will face the Lopers.
Since their last home dual, the Huskers have claimed two dual wins, the Navy Classic title, and two conference wrestler of the week honors, as Ridge Lovett (149) and Antrell Taylor (157) each won the award for the first time in their careers.
Nebraska’s duals on Friday will be streamed on Big Ten Plus. Tickets can be purchased at huskers.com/tickets.
Wrestling stalling signs will be given away to the first 500 fans in attendance, and the “Holiday Havoc” duals will also feature Santa and the Grinch, available for pictures from 3:30-5:30 p.m. before the pair wrestle during the intermission of Nebraska versus UN-Kearney.

Back Points
Early Conference Honors for Lovett, Taylor
Ridge Lovett (149) and Antrell Taylor (157) have both been honored as Big Ten Wrestler of the Week in the 2024-25 season. Lovett claimed the award on Nov. 21 after his first ranked win of the season, over No. 6 Lachlan McNeil at UNC. It was his first time receiving the honor, and he was the first Husker to do so since Peyton Robb in Dec. 2023. Taylor was named wrestler of the week after winning the 157 title at the Cliff Keen Invitational, going 5-0 with four ranked wins.
Freshmen Success
Projected 197-pound starter McDanel is one of only three Huskers on the current roster to start his freshman season, joined by junior Hardy and senior Lovett. In 2019-20, Lovett wrestled to a seventh-place Big Ten finish and an NCAA appearance, while Hardy finished the 2020-21 season with a 3-3 dual record. James Green was the most recent Husker wrestler to earn All-America honors as a freshman, finishing seventh at the 2012 NCAA Championships.
Lovett Looks to Earn Fourth All-American Award
A 149-pound senior from Post Falls, Idaho, Lovett returns looking to become the sixth four-time Nebraska All-American. Lovett is currently one of 16 three-time All-Americans in the history of Nebraska wrestling. Last season, he claimed the Big Ten Championship title and his sixth-place finish at NCAAs cemented his All-American status. Lovett enters his senior season with a career record of 76-19.
