The Nebraska wrestling team looks to improve on its 2023 Cliff Keen runner-up finish, at this year’s Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas. The two-day tournament features 31 programs, including five top-10 ranked teams. Ridge Lovett (149) seeks to defend his title, after winning his weight class last year and helping the Big Red to 125.5 team points and a second-place finish.
This year, NU is sending nine wrestlers to the invitational, which begins Friday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. (CT). The championship finals are slated to start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. The tournament will be set up in a bracket format, with consolation rounds, for each weight class.
The No. 3 Huskers will have the chance to matchup against wrestlers from No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 8 South Dakota State and No. 9 Michigan. Over 130 nationally ranked wrestlers are registered for competition.

Last Time Out: For the third-straight season, the Huskers claimed the Navy Classic title in Maryland. The Big Red finished first of 13 teams with 150 points and brought home individual titles in five weight classes.
Up Next: NU will return home for a triangular on Friday, Dec. 20. After the neutral match, the Big Red will face Augustana at 6 p.m., followed by UN-Kearney. Action will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.

Husker History at the Cliff Keen Invite: Nebraska has competed at the Las Vegas Invitational a total of 28 times, finishing first in 2003, 2008, 2019, 2021 and 2022. The Big Red have placed second six times: 1992, 1995, 2000, 2004, 2013 and 2023.
Last Time at Cliff Keen (Dec. 2023): Two Huskers claimed individual titles for NU to take its sixth runner-up finish. Ridge Lovett (149) and Peyton Robb (157) finished atop their weight classes to secure the second-place team finish.
Huskers Head to FHSU Bob Smith Open: Huskers competing in the FHSU Bob Smith Open will begin bouts on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m. (CT). The open tournament, hosted by Fort Hayes State University will be streamed on FloWrestling.
