The Nebraska women’s tennis team has added Natalia Trigosso to its roster just ahead of the spring season. The freshman from La Paz, Bolivia has a career-best ITA junior ranking of 124, and held the No. 1 ranking in Bolivia growing up in U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups.
“I chose Nebraska because it has the perfect combination for my tennis and academic development,” Trigosso said. “That helps me grow on the court and also personally. It's the perfect place for me.”
Trigosso was the G5 La Paz tournament champion, has participated in the Billie Jean King Cup twice, and has competed in a handful of J60 and J100 tournaments.
“I’m very excited to add Natalia to the Husker family,” head coach German Dalmagro said. “She’s a hard worker that wants to be a part of our team and compete. Most importantly she’s a great person that cares a lot and wants the best for the team. She will be a great addition and I look forward to seeing her in Husker gear.”
The Big Red begin spring dual play on Thursday, Jan. 16 on the road with a doubleheader at UC Riverside. Match updates and content can be found on huskers.com and on social media @HuskerWTennis.
