New Castle, Del. - The third-ranked Nebraska bowling team will start the spring schedule in Delaware this weekend, competing at the Northeast Classic, hosted by No. 11 Sacred Heart at Bowlerama.
The Huskers finished the fall portion of the season in New Jersey at the Garden State Classic where the team took home silver. The Big Red later moved up to third from fifth in the country in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) rankings.
Last season at the Northeast Classic, Nebraska finished fifth, following a first-place finish in 2022-23. This year’s field includes a robust 39 teams including 21 of the top 25 teams in the nation.
The first ball will be thrown Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. (CT) with five sets of five-game baker matches. The tournament continues with five traditional matches Saturday morning, beginning at 8:25 a.m. (CT). The combined results from Friday and Saturday will determine seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship tournament. Each team will play three best-of-seven baker matches, beginning at 7:25 a.m. (CT).
