The Nebraska swimming and diving team concludes its regular-season schedule by taking on Iowa and Rutgers Friday and Saturday in Piscataway, N.J.
Nebraska's final regular-season meet begins Friday at 6 p.m. (CT) with the one-meter diving competition followed by eight swim events. Action resumes on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the three-meter dive and a non-scored platform event before concluding with the final nine swim events.
Abby Baxter, who was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week (Jan. 22) after sweeping the one and three-meter dives in Nebraska's final home dual win over Illinois (Jan. 18), will lead the Huskers in the diving well against the Scarlet Knights and Hawkeyes. The sophomore from Coppell, Texas owns five event titles on the season.
All-American Gena Jorgenson added three individual swim titles in the win over the Fighting Illini. The junior from Aberdeen, S.D. swam to victory in the 1,000 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 400 IM against Illinois. Jorgenson, who has claimed 21 individual titles this season, will have an opportunity to swim the 1,650 free against the Scarlet Knights and Hawkeyes. She earned first-team All-America honors in the event in 2024.
Seniors Maia Hall and JoJo Randby will lead a strong Big Red contingent in the breaststroke events. Randby is coming off a win in the 100 breaststroke, while Hall raced to victory in the 200 breast against the Fighting Illini.
Junior Maisie Gilford hopes to keep shaving time off her sprint freestyle races. Gilford won an individual title in the 50 free and anchored Nebraska's victory in the 200 medley relay in the team win over Illinois.
Freshman Virginia Consiglio will look to add to her impressive debut against Illinois. Consiglio, who made her first appearance as a collegian in the win over Illinois, swam to victory in the 100 backstroke.
Live results will be available through the Meet Mobile app, while live video of Friday's events will be available for subscribers of B1G+. Live video of Saturday's events is expected to be unavailable due to conflicts with other athletic events on campus at Rutgers.
