Clinton Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Nebraska men’s gymnastics freshman Caden Clinton was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his performance against Greenville on Saturday, Feb. 15, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Clinton made his Husker debut during the meet against the Panthers, where Nebraska put up a season-high score in the 322.700-309.350 win. The freshman earned second place on high bar with a 13.25 and fourth place on parallel bars (13.30) and pommel horse (13.65).

Michigan’s Fred Richard picked up Big Ten Gymnast of the Week and the Wolverines’ Charlie Larson earned Big Ten Specialist of the Week.

Nebraska is currently ranked as No.6 following its first sweep of event titles against Greenville. Clinton, Taylor Christopulos and Alex Nitache will look to continue their success this weekend at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup in Louisville, Ky., from Feb. 21-23.
